If you are a Category I or Category II employee and leave work temporarily for family and medical leave, the Trust will pay up to three moths of health and welfare benefits for you if you meet certain criteria. If you qualify, you receive the same benefits you had before taking family and medical leave. Prerequisites for coverage under family and medical leave:
The Benefit To Qualified Employees If you qualify for this benefit as a Category II employee, your employer will pay the health and welfare premium for the month you last worked before taking the family and medical leave. The Trust then pays for up to three months of health and welfare coverage. After three months of Trust-paid coverage, health and welfare premiums must be paid by your employer or by COBRA payment. Application Process Trust paid health and welfare coverage will stop before the third month if you return to work or otherwise terminate your family and medical leave. |
